Arpine Sargsyan: Recent stricter controls at Armenian border  checkpoints led to the discovery of  large quantities of drugs

ArmInfo. Recently, the control measures have been intensified at Armenian border checkpoints, leading to the discovery of significant amounts of drugs, as stated  by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia,  Arpine Sargsyan, to journalists on March 21.  According to her, this  pertains to the identification and seizure of large quantities of  drugs, which has helped prevent the distribution of these substances  in  small containers and plastic bags on a large scale.

Regarding the importance of educating students about the drug harm in  the country's schools, the Minister noted that while the issue is  sensitive, the presented picture may be somewhat exaggerated. The  department, as Sarkisyan noted, tries to approach the issue in all  its depth when investigating cases involving minors in drug related  cases. Statistics show that there is not a significant volume of drug  trafficking occurring.
