The RA Ministry of Internal Affairs has received only one signal regarding the theft of a car number for the purpose of extorting money from Georgian fans who arrived for the Armenia-Georgia match. This was stated by Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan at a meeting of the RA National Assembly Committee on Security and Defense Issues on March 21.
According to her, this morning the department issued an official denial of the mass theft of license plates from Georgian fans' cars.
"I don't know where this message came from, but we have received only one signal, according to which the thief posted the car number on a Telegram channel demanding a certain amount of money. We still have to sort this out, but what the media is reporting about the alleged mass theft of license plates is not true," the minister emphasized.
However, that the head of the public organization "Union of Informed Citizens" Daniel Ioannisyan made a report about the mass theft of license plates.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs denied this information, emphasizing that only one such case has been recorded in the last three days. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also called on owners of vehicles that have suffered from the actions of criminals to contact the police.
