ArmInfo. Natural disasters follow one after another in the Lori region of Armenia. This was written on his Facebook page by Armen Ovasapyan, a member of the Council of the Republican Party.
In particular, according to him, there has been an unprecedented snowfall in the Alaverdi region since yesterday night (in some places the height of the snow cover reached 30 cm), as a result of which a rather complicated emergency situation has developed. At the same time this morning at 5:15 an earthquake occurred (about 4 points).
"In addition to all this, yesterday late in the evening (around 1 am) massive power outages were recorded in Alaverdi and neighboring villages (Odzun, Aygeghat, Ardvi). After the earthquake, the region was completely left without electricity. It is assumed that a high-voltage tower fell on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi section. The situation in the internal networks is also unsatisfactory. Due to wet and heavy snowfall, many power transmission towers fell. In these conditions, a natural question arises: how will the work of schools, kindergartens and other institutions, which mainly work with heating boilers and which, in turn, cannot function without electricity, be organized?" the politician asked.
