ArmInfo. The only threat to Armenian national sovereignty is the current government, which recognizes only defeat, capitulation and shame on the world stage. This is how Gev Iskajyan, a public relations officer at the Washington office of Hay Dat, responded to the statement by Arsen Torosyan, a member of the Armenian parliament from the ruling Civil Contract faction, that the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) serves Russian, not Armenian, interests.
"Arsen, while your ambassador to the US was taking selfies and focusing on photo opportunities, our staff worked tirelessly day and night to free our prisoners of war, something many in your party are afraid to even talk about.
When your government was withdrawing war crimes cases against Azerbaijan from international courts, we were working to impose sanctions against Azerbaijan in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, South America and around the world," Iskajyan noted.
The ANCA representative went on to note that "when your Prime Minister insisted that Artsakh be part of Azerbaijan, I was in Stepanakert speaking on behalf of Hay Dat with our people, enduring 265 days of blockade and war."
"Right now, your leader bows to Erdogan and declares that recognition of the Armenian Genocide is not a priority. The recognition achieved through decades of work by Hay Dat chapters around the world has led to recognition of the Genocide in over 34 countries and all 50 US states. The only threat to our national sovereignty is your government, which recognizes only defeat, capitulation and shame on the world stage," Iskajian concluded.
Earlier, Torosyan wrote on his Twitter microblog (X) that the goal of the Hay Dat Committee of America is to reduce Armenia's sovereignty. "The committee, based in the District of Columbia, lobbies for Moscow's interests. All this is done under the guise of patriotism, nationalism, the preservation of Armenian values, and so on," he wrote.
