ArmInfo. Francophonie Day once again reminds us that language is not just a means of communication, but a bridge that unites peoples, strengthening mutual respect and friendship. This is stated in the message of the head of the Armenian MFA Ararat Mirzoyan on the occasion of Francophonie Day.
"According to the long-standing tradition, on March 20, we celebrate International Francophonie Day. Thanks to the efforts of the state structures of Armenia, communities, embassies of French-speaking countries, French-speaking NGOs, universities, schools, theaters, libraries and cultural centers, hundreds of events will be held throughout the country honoring the French language and uniting around the values that nourish Francophonie: cultural diversity, peace, democracy and human rights," the Armenian Minister noted.
Mirzoyan emphasized that in recent years, our cooperation with the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF) has received new impetus.
"Armenia attaches particular importance to the implementation of the provisions of the declaration and other documents adopted during the OIF summit in Villers-Cote - this important meeting of heads of state, with the aim of promoting the strengthening of linguistic and cultural diversity, enhancing the role of youth, as well as the speedy resolution of conflicts and strengthening peace in the French-speaking region," he added.
At the same time, he emphasized that Armenia is already preparing with great enthusiasm for the 10th International Sports and Cultural Games of Francophonie, which the country will host in Yerevan from July 23 to August 1, 2027.
"This exceptional event will not only strengthen our friendly ties with French-speaking countries, but will also make a great contribution to the dissemination and strengthening of the French language in Armenia.
I wish a good start to the next two months of Francophonie in Armenia and wish all French-speakers and bearers of the values of Francophonie both in our country and around the world a good mood and many memorable moments," he concluded.
On March 14, the official start was given to the festive events that will be held in the country as part of the two-month Francophonie. The events will be held both in Yerevan and in the regions of the country.
