Zakharova: Yerevan`s decision to freeze its CSTO membership does not contribute to strengthening Armenia`s security

ArmInfo. During a briefing on  March 20, the official representative of the Russian Foreign  Ministry, Maria Zakharova, addressed a question from an Armenian  journalist regarding the status of  Armenia's bilateral and CSTO  security guarantees from the Russian Federation.  The journalist  inquired whether these guarantees remain in force, given the fact  that Armenia has frozen its membership in the CSTO.

<Russia's obligations towards Armenia within the CSTO and in a  bilateral format are still in force, everyone knows this very well.  However, the freezing of its membership in the CSTO, I remind you,  initiated by Yerevan itself, does not contribute to strengthening  Armenia's security, as it is clear to all,> Zakharova pointed out.   <As a housewife who loves to cook, I want to say that defrosting  takes time,>  the Russian Foreign Ministry representative added.
