Russia`s MFA Special Representative ready to visit region for consultations between Armenia and Azerbaijan

ArmInfo. Russian Co-Chair of the  OSCE Minsk Group Igor Khovayev is ready to visit the region for  consultations, as stated by Russian Foreign Ministry official  representative Maria Zakharova on March 20 at a weekly briefing,  while responding to an Armenian journalist's remark that despite  statements from Yerevan and Baku on agreeing upon the peace agreement  draft text, Azerbaijan is actually refusing to sign it and is putting  forward new demands and preconditions for Armenia to sign the  agreement.

Zakharova emphasized that Moscow welcomes the progress achieved in  the peace process between Baku and Yerevan, the completion of  negotiations on the text of the peace agreement and the establishment  of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

<This is a significant step towards long-awaited security and  prosperity in the South Caucasus. The relevant commentary was posted  on the website, as you know. And, of course, there are still several  issues on the peace agenda, important issues, even global ones, I  would say, that are waiting for their solutions. This includes  unblocking transport and economic ties in the region, and, of course,  delimitation and the humanitarian block. But we reaffirm, in turn,  our willingness to support our colleagues in Azerbaijan, Armenia  on  all tracks in this form, I mean in this area, in the form, in the  volume in which it will be in demand by both parties. Yuri  Anatolyevich Khovayev, the special representative of the Minister for  assistance to the normalization of relations between Armenia and  Azerbaijan, is ready to visit the region for relevant consultations,>  Zakharova said.
