Honored Artist of Armenia Ara Dekhrikyan dies 

ArmInfo. Honored Artist of Armenia, actor of the Hakob Paronyan State Musical Comedy Theater Ara Dekhtrikyan passed away at the age of 60. This was reported by the  press service of the Union of Theater Workers of Armenia.

It is known that the actor had been battling cancer for a long time.

Dekhtrikyan began his theatrical career at the age of 22 on the stage  of the Yerevan Theater for Young Spectators. In 1994, he was invited  to the Paronyan State Musical Comedy Theater. In addition to his  theatrical work, Dekhtrikyan also starred in films and TV series.

Ara Dekhtrikyan was a laureate of several theater awards. In 2003, he  received the annual theater award of the Union of Theater Workers of  Armenia "Artavazd" for his role in the play "Dinner with a Fool" by  F.  Weber (Pignon). In 2007, he was awarded the "Artist" award for  the best performance of the leading roles in the plays of A. Chekhov  "The Bear" (Lomov) and "The Proposal" (Smirnov). In 2010, Ara  Dekhtrikyan was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Armenia. He  actively collaborated with the Yerevan State Theater "Hamazgayin",  the "Goy" Theater and the State Theater of Musical Comedy named after  A.  Paronyan.
