ArmInfo. The agreed peace treaty with Azerbaijan reflects the national interests of Armenia. This was written on his Facebook account by Arsen Torosyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the ruling Civil Contract faction.
According to him, the presented document is based on international law and must be signed. This need, as the parliamentarian emphasized, comes from Azerbaijan's ongoing false statements about the alleged shelling of its positions by the Armenian armed forces. "Now that the document has been agreed upon, Azerbaijan is resorting to information provocations to delay the signing of this treaty, approved by the international community, including major powers, since it did not plan for such a scenario," Torosyan emphasized.
On March 16, the RA Ministry of Defense three times refuted the claims of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry about the alleged shelling of its positions located in the southeastern direction of the border.
On March 13, official Yerevan confirmed the completion of negotiations with Baku on the draft peace treaty. Thus, in the statement of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, it was said that the Armenian Foreign Ministry through diplomatic channels brought to the attention of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry that the Republic of Armenia accepts Azerbaijan's proposals on two uncoordinated articles of the draft "Agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan".
Earlier, the head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that the Armenian side accepted all of Baku's proposals, including those regarding the abolition of the OSCE Minsk Group and amendments to the country's Constitution.
