The Secretary-General welcomes the announcements by Armenia and Azerbaijan on the conclusion of negotiations on the draft peace agreement. He is encouraged by the progress made by the parties towards normalization of relations and strongly supports their efforts to resolve all outstanding issues in the interest of long-term peace in the region.
On March 13, it became known that Yerevan and Baku had completed the approval of the draft peace treaty. At the same time, the Prime Minister of Armenia noted that the time and place of signing the treaty had not yet been determined. According to him, Yerevan is waiting for the go-ahead from Baku. Touching upon the content of the two remaining points that were agreed upon, Pashinyan said that this was an agreement on the non-deployment of third-country forces and the waiver of international claims.
