Russia welcomes the completion of negotiations on the text of the draft peace agreement aimed at establishing peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, posted on the website of the Foreign Ministry.
"Russia supports this important step towards achieving full and comprehensive normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as envisaged by the trilateral agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2020-2022," the statement says. The Russian side has also emphasized its willingness to provide comprehensive assistance in advancing the peace process and resolving any remaining issues between Baku and Yerevan. This assistance would include preparations for signing a peace agreement, unblocking transport communications, delimitation of the joint border, and addressing humanitarian issues, provided that this is acceptable to all parties.
Additionally, it has been reported that Igor Khovayev, the special representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for assistance in Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization, is prepared to visit Baku and Yerevan for relevant consultations. "We reaffirm our proposal to provide a Russian platform for representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia to discuss all matters related to Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization, including the signing of a peace treaty," the Russian Foreign Ministry concluded.
