ArmInfo. The so-called "peace treaty" is not an attempt to establish sustainable peace between the peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan, but is aimed at preserving the ruling power in the country, and the Armenian prisoners of war held in Baku are a guarantee for it, as stated by Menua Soghomonyan, a representative of the civic association "Hayakve" on March 14 in Yerevan, during a rally outside the UN office in support of Armenian prisoners of war,
The public figure emphasized their demands are primarily aimed at the government of Armenia. Soghomonyan clarified that their demands haven't changed: the protesters insist that the Armenian authorities must fulfill their obligations to free their citizens from the Baku dungeons Soghomonyan added that the authorities have done nothing to free the Armenian prisoners, except for a few statements.
In this regard, he pointed out that Armenia is represented in at least 23 international organizations, has 50 political representations in the country and operates 50 Armenian embassies abroad, has established 70 friendship groups in the National Assembly of Armenia, and various legal international instruments. According to Soghomonyan, none of these instruments are being used at the official level in Armenia to free the Armenian prisoners of war. Those gathered today at the UN office in Yerevan appealed to the representatives of the World Organization to visit the Armenian prisoners of war held in Baku, and be present at their illegal trial.
