ArmInfo. The main condition for signing the peace treaty text is amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. This is noted in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on the completion of negotiations on a peace agreement with Armenia. However, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had previously assured journalists that there were no discussions with Baku regarding amending the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, as <this is an internal matter for Armenia>.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has issued a statement on the completion of peace agreement negotiations with Armenia. It reads as follows:
<We note with satisfaction that the negotiations on the text of the draft Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia have been concluded. We also reiterate the long-lasting and principled position of Azerbaijan that the amendment to Armenia's constitution to eliminate the claims against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is a prerequisite to allow the signing of the negotiated text. Furthermore, we emphasize the necessity to formally abolish obsolete and dysfunctional OSCE Minsk Group and related structures. We are ready to continue the bilateral dialogue on these and other issues related to the normalization process between the two countries," the statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry says.>
