ArmInfo. Armenia and the Netherlands have signed a joint Declaration on the Strategic Partnership. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced this at a joint press conference with his Dutch counterpart Caspar Veldkamp.
According to Mirzoyan, the document was signed during the visit of the Dutch Foreign Minister to Yerevan. It covers numerous areas and provides for strengthening political and economic ties, infrastructure development, cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, including the fight against hybrid threats, the rule of law, and, no less importantly, contacts between people. He added that the document will soon be published, and it will be possible to get acquainted with it.
The head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry also highlighted the provisions of the document, which express support for efforts to establish peace and stability in the South Caucasus based on the sovereignty of countries, the principle of inviolability of borders, non-use of force and the promotion of international and regional trade and communications.
In turn, the head of the Dutch Foreign Ministry, Caspar Veldkamp, stated that the document does not imply cooperation in the military sphere, particularly regarding the supply of weapons. "The Strategic partnership is not directed against anyone, including Azerbaijan and Turkey. The signing of such a document is a significant event for the Netherlands as it reflects their attitude towards the Republic of Armenia. The Minister also announced the upcoming opening of an embassy in Yerevan," the Minister assured.
