Armenia and Italy have significant potential to enhance cooperation in medicine, as stated by the Ambassador of Italy to Armenia, Alessandro Ferranti, during a meeting with the Minister of Health of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan. Particularly, he proposed organizing meetings and implementing programs at the academic level as well.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, the parties discussed issues related to close cooperation between several medical centers of both countries and opportunities for sharing experiences. The Minister presented the priorities of healthcare sector reforms to the Ambassador, touching upon the digitalization process of the industry, and reforms for the introduction of a universal health insurance system. Also, she expressed confidence that the newly appointed Ambassador will play an important role in enhancing bilateral cooperation.
