ArmInfo.Former Prime Minister of Armenia Hrant Bagratyan, who was accused of calling for violence against the current head of government Nikol Pashinyan, has been acquitted. Lawyer Hovhannes Kocharyan shared this information on a social network.
The charges against the former Prime Minister were brought based on his speech at a rally organized by the Miasin (Together) movement outside the parliament building on April 4, 2023. During the rally, he publicly stated that the current economic and security situation was created as a result of the foreign and domestic policies of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Specifically, the former Prime Minister, speaking about Pashinyan, said: "Eliminate this man, take him out! Overthrow this government with your own forces!" A written undertaking not to leave was chosen as a preventive measure against him.
