ArmInfo. The position of military attache will be created at the Armenian Embassy in Brussels, who will deal with issues related to increasing the level of cooperation with both the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union and NATO. The decision on this was made at the meeting of the RA government on March 6.
As noted in the justification of the project, this decision is due to the recent significant development of cooperation between Armenia and Belgium and the European Union in the fields of defense and security. The support provided to Armenia within the framework of the European Peace Fund, the start of negotiations on a framework agreement on Armenia's participation in EU crisis management missions, as well as a significant expansion of the security and defense component in the new Armenia-European Union partnership agenda have created favorable conditions for the further development of military cooperation with the EU.
The military cooperation launched with Belgium can also play a positive role in the development of Armenia's defense capability and sustainability in the long term.
The Military Attache will deal with issues of strengthening cooperation with the EU, participate in various discussions, provide military and military-political priorities and approaches of Armenia in the context of maintaining international peace and security.
