ArmInfo. The ruling force is not afraid of the participation of the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan in the upcoming electoral processes, as stated by ruling Civil Contract faction MP Vahagn Aleksanyan at a briefing with journalists.
Commenting on the upcoming elections of mayor in Gyumri and the statements that no opposition party will secure over 50 % of the votes, he noted that the second and third former presidents of Armenia can only try to combine their efforts to achieve the desired result. However, he believes that the people will ultimately make the right decision and urged the residents of Gyumri to actively participate in the elections.
"Do not allow organized forces to implement their scenario," Aleksanyan said. Addiitonally, the MP did not agree with the opinion that the ruling party had already suffered a defeat in Gyumri, given the fact that theircandidate in the Gyumri elections, Sarik Minasyan, had only recently joined the party. "All party members at some point become part of its team," Aleksanyan concluded.
