ArmInfo. The inclusion of humanitarian issues in the agenda of bilateral Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations will contribute to the creation of an atmosphere of trust between Baku and Yerevan. This is how the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the trial of former State Minister of Artsakh Ruben Vardanyan and other representatives of the military-political leadership of the NKR.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the said persons are not citizens of Russia. "We, in turn, confirm our commitment to the trilateral agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, including the need to resolve such issues as respect for the rights of refugees, preservation of cultural, historical and religious heritage, search for those missing during military operations, and exchange of detainees. We are ready to provide the requested assistance to our Azerbaijani and Armenian partners," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in response to a clarification from the Verelq Information and Analytical Center about whether Moscow can help in the release of these people, whose basic rights are currently being grossly violated, and the accusations brought against them by the Azerbaijani authorities indirectly affect Russia.
