ArmInfo. The current authorities of Armenia have failed both in domestic and foreign policy, they are illegitimate and must be removed from the systems of state and local self- government. This is stated in the statement of the opposition bloc "Mother Armenia".
The document received by ArmInfo notes that the early elections to the Council of Elders of Gyumri can create preconditions for a complete change of power in the Republic of Armenia.
Based on the above, the bloc "Mother Armenia", as an ideological and radical opponent of the ruling party "Civil Contract" in the country, will take part in the elections based on a number of principles. First of all, the bloc decided to take part in the elections in order to deprive the ruling party of the opportunity to form new city authorities. At the same time, "Mother Armenia" will establish partnership relations with all those parties or blocs that declare that they exclude any possibility of cooperation with the ruling political force in the pre-election, electoral and post-election stages. "Those political forces that will try to serve the artificial reproduction of the "State Duma" by providing shadow services cannot have any relations with "Mother Armenia".
Those who do not have a clear position on the Civil Contract party will be considered by us as agents of the ruling force and will be treated accordingly. Mother Armenia seeks to form a full-fledged government in Gyumri, but if the election results do not allow us to independently form a city government, then our position is that the executive power in Gyumri should be formed by the force that has gained the largest number of votes in the opposition field. Members of the Council of Elders of other forces that have overcome the threshold will have to vote for the mayoral candidate from the force that has gained the largest number of votes from the opposition, without claiming any executive position. Cooperation between these forces should be on the programmatic and ideological plane, and control over the executive power should be carried out through the institution of the Council of Elders. All forces opposing the Civil Contract party must commit themselves not to oppose each other during the election campaign and jointly fight against possible falsifications in the electoral process, including at polling stations," the statement reads.
