ArmInfo.Armenia considers any false propaganda against the EU civilian mission in the Republic unacceptable. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan stated this at an event held at the mission headquarters in Yeghegnadzor, dedicated to the extension of the mandate of the EU civilian mission in the country.
Reiterating the stabilizing role of the EU civilian mission in Armenia, the Armenian official stressed the importance of extending the mandate of their activities for another two years. "We highly value the work of the mission as a stabilizing factor symbolizing the EU's commitment to contribute to the stability of the region," he noted, adding that the extension of the mission for another two years is a signal of the EU's desire to promote peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
Additionally, Grigoryan believes that the stabilization factor often makes the EU civil mission in Armenia a target of attacks and inappropriate criticism from other countries. "We are also not surprised that sometimes, criticism from two different capitals often shares 90% identical content. We find false propaganda against the EU civil mission in Armenia to be unacceptable and will continue our joint work to combat disinformation," Grigoryan noted, the press service of the Security Council of Armenia reported. The official also welcomed the expansion of the mission and Canada's participation in it. In conclusion, he reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to strengthening its security relations with the EU.
