Transparency International has issued a statement expressing solidarity with the  AGBU and other organizations in urging an end to Azerbaijan's political persecution of Armenian prisoners of war and illegally detained persons held in Baku.  <We are particularly concerned about the inhumane treatment of Ruben Vardanyan. He has declared a hunger strike, desperately calling on the international community to  intervene and stop Azerbaijan's gross violations of the law and basic human rights,> the statement said.
