ArmInfo. One of the key areas of activity for the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" regarding Armenia is outlining efforts to resist the pressure from the Azerbaijani-Turkish tandem against thecountry, so that it can breathe and operate with dignity in the international arena, as stated by Hakob Ter-Khachaturyan, a representative of the ARF Bureau, in a conversation with journalists on the sidelines of the 35th Congress of the Supreme Body of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun".
"Unfortunately, the policy pursued by the Armenian authorities does not contribute to the efforts of the Diaspora Armenians. The national ideology is now opposed to the new idea of the so-called "real Armenia," which is an incomprehensible to us, and tramples on national hopes and values. In addition, it is necessary to stop the unilateral concessions made by this capitulated government," the Dashnaktsakan said. When asked how the ARF intends to achieve this, considering that the Dashnaktsakans have been talking about this for 7 years, Ter-Khachaturyan noted that not only the ARF, but also all healthy forces in Armenia are demanding the resignation of the current authorities.
"After the fall of Artsakh and its de-Armenization, one thing is clear: these authorities are leading the country into the abyss with their false peace agenda. And we will continue to try to remove this government by all legal means," the representative of the ARF Bureau said. Pointing out that refugees from Artsakh should be provided with a decent life in Armenia, Ter-Khachaturyan stressed that they will continue their efforts to ensure the right of the Artsakh people to return to their homes. "The people of Artsakh, in an intermediate status and with international guarantees, should be able to return to their historical homeland. We are actively lobbying on this issue. There are individuals in Russia, in the countries of the collective West, and the Middle East who are willing to act as neutral mediators in this situation," he said.
He recalled that the Trump administration has already expressed its willingness to ensure the security of Christians in the Middle East. Ter-Khachaturyan also pointed out the lack of action by the Armenian authorities regarding the protection of rights for refugees from Artsakh and Armenians detained in Baku, and other matters of current importance to the country. Additionally, he believes that the so-called peace agenda of the current Armenian authorities is false. According to the Dashnaktsakan, while everyone wants peace, it must be achieved with dignity and cannot be attained through one-sided concessions to Azerbaijan.
