ArmInfo.Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan presented the programs to be implemented in our country within the framework of the International Francophonie Day to the ambassadors of the Francophonie member countries, headed by the Ambassador of Switzerland to Armenia Lucas Rosenkranz.
As ArmInfo was informed by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MECS) of Armenia, the programs will be implemented in cooperation with 500 educational and cultural organizations and include screenings of French-language films, classical music concerts and events dedicated to such outstanding personalities as Charles Aznavour, Missak Manouchian and others.
The Ambassador of Switzerland to Armenia Lucas Rosenkranz stressed the importance of the contribution of the Francophonie countries to the dissemination of values and popularization of the French language and noted that one of the goals of the Francophonie is to create economic, political and cultural cooperation. In this regard, the diplomat noted the importance of holding the Francophonie Games in Armenia in 2027 and expressed readiness to support these initiatives.
Armenia became a full member of the International Organization of Francophonie in October 2012. This year, the traditional two-month Francophonie in Armenia will start on March 20.
