ArmInfo. The text of the new Constitution should be ready by the 2026 elections, as stated by Minister of Justice of Armenia Srbuhi Galyan to journalists. She noted that last year they worked on the concept of the new Constitution, and now work is underway to create the text. After that, a decision will be made, according to the minister, on holding a referendum. Galyan did not rule out that the referendum will most likely take place after the elections.
She also stated that there is no final decision yet on whether the Constitution will refer to the Declaration of Independence. In this regard, the Minister noted that, regardless of the presence or absence of the latter, this will not affect real life in any way. "Allow me not to comment on the text. This is within the competence of the Commission (Special Commission on Constitutional Reforms)," the head of the Ministry of Justice said.
