ArmInfo. A completely new agenda is needed to preserve the Armenian population in Artsakh. This is what member of the Alternative Projects Group Vahe Hovhannisyan writes in his article.
According to him, the history of the creation of the Republic of Artsakh and negotiations on the Artsakh issue with documents, negotiation formats, secret and known details, was reset to zero by the time of the current authorities of the country. "A completely new situation has emerged now, which has nothing to do with the negotiation process that took place under three presidents. The history of the negotiations has become history. This is a fact.
Today we need a completely new concept of Artsakh, which is left without Armenians, and its military- political leadership is in court in Baku. This situation could not have been foreseen at any of the previous stages of the negotiations. Digging into the previous negotiation plans means simply swallowing the bait thrown by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and all his steps are based solely on expanding his own power or personal security. Thus, this painful digging into the previous negotiations on Artsakh will again benefit only one person, and this person is the gravedigger of Artsakh," the expert believes.
In his opinion, today there is a need to rise above the team competition, in which the principle applies: "under my president the situation was better than under another." "It is impossible to motivate yourself with what will be written in future history books. And this imperative seriousness must come from the former presidents, and the teams must perceive it as an indication to move forward. Under all three presidents, the situation was better than it is now. The tragic fact is that in order to ensure the continuation of Armenianism in Artsakh, we need a completely new Artsakh agenda. To serve this only healthy agenda, the strong forces of all three "formers" must unite, capable of breaking out of the toxic and hopeless swamp of personal ambitions and enmity. This agenda has great potential to unite around itself young people, various groups not connected with any past or current government circles, but who see their future in this country. It can also unite the fragmented society of Artsakh, in which this government propaganda group has also managed to sow discord on the ground," the political scientist believes.
He noted that the strategic formula for the new agenda of Artsakh should be that we will return anyway. This may take several years, perhaps several decades. No matter how much effort it takes, no one can say now when this will happen, it must be passed on from generation to generation. In this way, a holistic nation must be formed.
"This is not a dream, but a national goal that requires rational and constant work. The new Artsakh agenda must realistically assess all our possible resources, choose the right rhetoric to find allies in a changing world and formulate its own goals in a way that would be understandable and acceptable to various influential circles. The new Artsakh agenda must be flexible, so to speak, cunning. Most importantly, the new Artsakh agenda must be an agenda of peace with all its components: balancing of forces, containment mechanisms, adequate management of human resources, ensuring constant dialogue with the public, refusing to exploit sensitive and painful points for the public. The core and goal of the new Artsakh concept should be the continuation of the Armenians in Artsakh. And for a start, we should close the discussion of the previous negotiations and leave it for a much later time, as part of studying the history of independent Armenia. Let's theoretically assume that one of the three presidents won this race. What benefit does the country get from this? What is the point of this in this extremely difficult situation? Today this dispute is useless, its only fruit is the current authorities of Armenia," the political scientist believes.
