ArmInfo.Armenia" responded to the concerns of Armenian truck drivers regarding changes in Russian migration legislation, that limit the period of stay for foreign citizens in the Russian Federation to 90 days without a visa within a year, starting from January 1, 2025. Danielyan noted on his Facebook page that he has sent letters to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia with a request to clarify the situation.
In a response letter, as the oppositionist indicated, the Migration and Citizenship Service of Armenia reported that the Armenian side took part in a video conference held on February 12, 2025, organized by the Department of Labor Migration and Social Protection of the Economic Commission for Europe (EEC). "During the video conference, the provisions of the decision regarding testing to confirm the rules and conditions for the entry and exit of foreigners and stateless persons into the Russian Federation, as well as their potential impact on the activities of labor migrants from the EAEU member states in Russia, were discussed," the deputy noted.
Danielyan also reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia provides similar information, adding that the Russian side is ready to offer a solution to the issue. The deputy assured that he will continue to monitor the situation and keep the public informed of any new developments.
