One should never ignore partners one is dependent on - Robert  Kocharyan

ArmInfo. Armenia is currently attempting to get closer to the center, which is weakening, and, conversely, is moving away from the center, which is getting stronger. This was stated at a press conference on February 17 by the second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan.

He pointed out the dangerous nature of these steps on the part of  Yerevan. Today, as the ex-president noted, changes are taking place  in the world order, when the borders of states are changing, as  happened after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

"In this situation, Armenia has decided that the time has come to  change its geopolitical course.  Meanwhile, the United States itself  has already recognized that the world has become multipolar today.   Listen to the latest statements by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio,  who has officially acknowledged this fact. The United States no  longer wants to be a hegemon, since it is very expensive. If Trump  says that Russia needs to be brought back into the plane of  international relations, this means that new opportunities are  opening up, including for Armenia. It is possible, acting with the  Russian Federation as a partner, to build one's position in relations  with other centers," Robert Kocharyan emphasized.

According to him, one should never neglect a partner on whom one  depends heavily. The current stage, according to the ex-president, is  the most dangerous moment for such actions. He noted that an  experienced and wise ship captain will never go out into the open  ocean during a storm, but will wait until the storm subsides. But the  Armenian authorities do not understand what is happening in the world  and, not understanding this, take steps that threaten the country.

"I don't know what part of the body these people think with, but I  assume that they have brains, but they do not have the ability to use  them correctly," the politician said.

At the same time, the ex-president is confident that Nikol  Pashinyan's position on the issue of Armenian- Russian relations will  soon change and he will call Putin as if nothing had happened and  talk about Armenian-Russian friendship.
