ArmInfo.Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the National Assembly of Armenia Sargis Khandanyan met with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk in Kyiv.
As reported by the press service of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, during the conversation Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized the importance of developing inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries, pointing out, in particular, the need for mutual visits through parliamentary friendship groups operating in the parliaments of the two countries.
On behalf of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Sargis Khandanyan expressed support for his colleagues in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for their courageous work in difficult conditions for the country and emphasized the importance of working together on inter-parliamentary platforms. He presented to the head of the Ukrainian parliament the security challenges around Armenia, the priorities of the foreign policy of the Republic of Armenia, the details of the Armenia-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Turkey negotiation processes. The "Crossroads of Peace" project presented by the Armenian government was also mentioned.
Ruslan Stefanchuk, in turn, emphasized the importance of strengthening regional peace and stability, expressing unconditional support for the preservation of Armenia's territorial integrity and its democratic development.
