It is noted that, at the invitation of the Mayor of Paris, the Armenian Ambassador to France Arman Khachatryan was also present at the adoption of the appeal.
"The appeal refers to the visits of Mayor Anne Hidalgo to Armenia and her unwavering solidarity with the Armenian people, and also reaffirms the full support of the Paris City Council for Armenia and the Armenian people.
In the above-mentioned appeal, referring to the circumstances of the detention of the former leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh, the conditions of their detention in Azerbaijan and the fabricated charges against them, the Paris City Council condemns the illegal arrest and sham trials of the former leaders of Nagorno- Karabakh and demands their release," the diplomatic mission said in a statement.
The Armenian Embassy also emphasized that this call for a vote in the Paris City Council was submitted by Deputy Mayor Arnaud Ngachay.
