ArmInfo. The regular meeting of the interdepartmental coordination council for the implementation of the requirements and provisions of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement was held yesterday under the chairmanship of RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan.
As reported by the press service of the RA government, in his opening remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of carrying out consistent work to increase the practical significance of the format in order to ensure the targets set within the framework of the climate change mitigation and adaptation policy.
During the meeting, the draft law "On Climate" was discussed in detail, including the need to develop regulations for the institutionalization of climate financing, as well as a measurement, reporting and accreditation system. In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of analyzing the costs of addressing climate change issues in the draft state budget for 2025 in terms of creating the necessary capacity to include climate issues in the planning and budgeting system. The meeting participants also discussed the proposed action plan for the coming years to promote the development of electric vehicle mobility, taking into account the priorities set for various industry departments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector.
