ArmInfo. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia Narek Mkrtchyan discussed cooperation opportunities in the field of social protection at a meeting with Chester King, CEO of International Hospitals Group (IHG).
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Social Labor of Armenia, in this regard, the parties considered the prospects for creating independent living centers for people with disabilities in the country, as well as expanding the range of services for people with mental health problems.
During the meeting, King presented the company's activities, spoke about the services provided to people with mental disorders, and touched upon issues related to improving the qualifications of specialists in this field.
In turn, Mkrtchyan presented the state policy in the field of solving the problems of people with disabilities. The Minister emphasized the importance of creating an Independent Living Center (this is a social home where young people with disabilities learn to overcome difficulties - ed.) and the need to provide comprehensive services that meet the needs of this category of citizens.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on further steps for the practical implementation of the initiatives discussed.
