ArmInfo. The idea of an unimpeded passage for Azerbaijan through the territory of the Republic of Armenia is unacceptable to the Armenian authorities. <Nobody talked about (the possibility of) unimpeded entry and exit and this is not subject to discussion>, - said the speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan at a briefing with journalists in the National Assembly, referring to the possibility of unblocking transport routes.
According to him, various options for the passage of Azerbaijani cargo are subject to discussion. Cargo can enter the Republic of Armenia, go through all the procedures provided by law and leave the country. But the conditions for entry and exit from the Republic of Armenia must be in accordance with international practice. In any case, unblocking communications through the territory of the republic is possible exclusively under the jurisdiction of Armenia, he emphasized. At the same time, Simonyan pointed out that all issues are discussed on the basis of the principle of reciprocity. <There is nothing that would be mandatory for Azerbaijan and would not work for Armenia>, - he said. When asked whether reciprocity is acceptable for Azerbaijan, Simonyan replied: "Well, if we are discussing it, then yes, of course."
At the same time, there are issues that currently still hinder the implementation of the idea. "This is a question of cargo security, this is a question of contacts, because, given the tensions of recent decades, we need to understand how, for example, the legal process will take place between citizens and departments of the two countries," he explained.
"The logic of the corridor will not bring peace, this is talk, a narrative about war," he summed up.
