ArmInfo. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan received the EU expert mission as part of the process of developing an action plan for visa liberalization with the European Union.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, the experts of the mission will assess the current situation and issues existing in the country from February 10 to 14 and establish the necessary guidelines for visa liberalization for Armenian citizens. During the meeting, the Deputy Minister discussed several important topics, including the current migration situation, the introduction of new biometric documents, the citizenship acquisition process, migration and asylum management, and digitalization issues. Ghazaryan highlighted the significant progress achieved in these areas through close cooperation with the EU under the Ministry of Internal Affairs mandate.
According to the source, the EU mission representatives received comprehensive answers to their questions at the meeting. Officials from the Ministry of the Interior, the European Commission's Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs, the Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, the European External Action Service, Frontex and the EU delegation also attended the discussion.
