ArmInfo. Russia is ready to help facilitate peaceful resolution between Armenia and Azerbaijan, while also welcomes any independent actions by the parties. This was the response from the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, during a briefing regarding comments made by the speaker of the Armenian parliament, Alen Simonyan, who indicated that Russia's involvement in the resolution process is "unlikely" due to "bad memories" of past experience.
"At different levels, we have heard statements from Yerevan that, in fact, there is no need for mediators. Both Yerevan and Baku are capable of continuing negotiations on their own until the finalization of this process. While we are ready to provide any possible assistance, we support their independent efforts," Peskov noted, TASS reports. The Kremlin spokesman emphasized Moscow's position: "The main thing is that the South Caucasus region remains predictable, peaceful, and truly becomes a space of prosperity and cooperation."
