European Commission told about rapprochement with Armenia

ArmInfo. The process of Armenia's rapprochement with the European Union (EU) is gaining momentum, but the country has not yet submitted an official  application for membership, the European Commission told Izvestia.

"The ongoing discussions in Armenia demonstrate the appeal of the  European Union and its values. EU- Armenia relations have never been  closer than  now. The launch of a dialogue on visa liberalization and  the provision of  ten million euros under the European Peace Facility  have demonstrated this," the European Commission stated.

Brussels also promised to discuss the draft law on European  integration with its Armenian colleagues.  Despite the fact that  legally the issue of Armenia's EU membership is not yet on the  agenda, the country is already moving towards a deeper partnership  with the union.
