ArmInfo. Armenian craftsmen will take part in the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Festival and Fair in India. According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MECS), the festival is being held from February 7 to 23 in the city of Faridabad and brings together craftsmen from different countries presenting their cultural heritage.
With the support of MECS, this year's festival-fair will feature craftsmen from the Hovhannes Sharambeyan Folk Art Museum, embroiderer Armenuhi Khachatryan, carpet maker Marine Gharibyan and doll maker Taguhi Asatryan. Thus, the fair will feature Armenian carpets, embroidery, examples of decorative and applied art, souvenirs, and handicraft master classes will be held in parallel.
The permanent participation of Armenian representatives in the annual Surajkund Crafts Festival and Fair is enshrined in the provisions of the protocol of the 8th meeting of the Armenian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission, held in Yerevan on July 4, 2022. Such an initiative is intended to promote the development of cultural cooperation between Armenia and India.
