ArmInfo. The protest in Yerevan against the twofold increase in turnover tax (from 5% to 10%) for small and medium-sized businesses has ended. Those involved have pledged to reconvene in front of the government building on February 13.
It should be noted that Hamlet Nazaryan, the Head of the Department for Consideration of applications, Monitoring and Evaluation of Citizen Feedback in the Prime Minister's Office, came out to meet with the protesters and urged them to outline their problems once more and submit them to the executive body. "All issues will be considered, and solutions will be sought for any identified problems," Nazaryan said. The protesters were displeased with Nazaryan's statement, arguing that the authorities tend to make decisions first before fully understanding the issues at hand.
During the protest, participants raised concerns about the use of cash registers, threatening to discontinue their use, and expressed dissatisfaction with the government policies.
