ArmInfo. Corrupt regimes around the world, seeking to retain their power, often create an image of an external enemy in their relationships with regional neighbors, as stated by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, David Khudatyan, at discussions within the framework of the Open Government Partnership initiative, held in Manila, the Philippines.
In this vein, the Minister emphasized that one of Armenia's policy priorities is the fight against corruption. Khudatyan admitted that insufficient efforts are being made in Armenia to create platforms that promote transparent and accountable governance. The head of the Ministry of Territorial Administration reported that the country is currently developing an advanced electronic procurement system that will ensure harmonization with the declarations of property of beneficiaries. According to him, this system will help stop illegal financial activities and eliminate the potential for money in politics.
The Minister also noted the lack of sufficient efforts to address the challenges that Armenia encountered during the pandemic and military escalation. "The time has come to focus significant efforts on resolving these issues," the department head emphasized.
