ArmInfo. During the ongoing "trial" of Azerbaijan, which is conducting "peace" negotiations with Yerevan, the prosecution's main focus is on Armenia, and the defendants in the case themselves are mainly portrayed as criminals. This was written on his Facebook page by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition faction "With Honor".
The deputy expressed his conviction that Baku's goal is not so much the 23 captured Armenians, but the implementation of a new operation against Armenia with their participation in the "trial". "It is no coincidence that from the very first sessions Azerbaijan brought to the forefront the incident with the missile attack on the Ganja airport, attributing it to the Armenian authorities with "evidence". From now on, the entire process and "verdict" will revolve around this logic: tighten the noose around Armenia, firmly attach the label of "aggressor" and "occupier". By the way, Azerbaijan will not limit itself to what happened. In the future, based on this "verdict", Azerbaijan will take the 2nd, 3rd, 4th step, since it has such an opportunity and is able to use non-existent realities as facts for various purposes," the parliamentarian noted.
The politician added that while the team of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan is providing services to Turkey and Azerbaijan with various anti-Armenian formulations, Baku is preparing new scams against Armenia.
Since January 17, a fabricated trial against the former leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh has been underway in the Baku Military Court under the chairmanship of Judge Zeynal Agayev. Among the accused are three former presidents of Nagorno-Karabakh: Arkady Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan and Arayik Harutyunyan. Also appearing before the court are former Foreign Minister David Babayan, Parliament Speaker David Ishkhanyan, former Defense Army Commander General Levon Mnatsakanyan, General David Manukyan and former State Minister Ruben Vardanyan.
According to Azerbaijani media, the court hearing on the case of former Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan will take place on February 10, and the hearing on the case of Arayik Harutyunyan, Bako Sahakyan, Arkady Ghukasyan and others will take place on February 7.
