IRI Ambassador: Armenia, Iran have mutual understanding on defense  cooperation

ArmInfo.Armenian-Iranian cooperation in the defense sector is progressing according to a  logical framework, as stated by Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani at a press conference in Yerevan on February 6.

"We share a mutual understanding regarding the development of  cooperation in this sector, which encompasses a variety of areas. We  strive to be consistent in the development of interaction in those  areas that are mutually beneficial," he said.  He added that he  doesn't think it is appropriate to discuss the topic further, and  noted that if there are suddenly exercises joint exercises Armenia  and Iran, it means that a corresponding agreement has been reached  between the parties.

The diplomat also choose not to address the issue of Iran blocking  the delivery of weapons to Armenia from third countries. He requested  clarification on the specific countries being discussed and noted  that he would not respond to baseless claims.
