At the Armenian Embassy in the United States, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the Chairman of the Commission on Relations between the World Council of Churches and the Vatican, Archbishop Vigen Haigazian, and the spiritual pastor of the Washington St. Astvatsatsin Church, Priest Hovsep Karapetyan.
As reported by the press service of the head of the Armenian Cabinet, during the meeting, issues related to the preservation of Armenians in the Diaspora and existing problems were discussed. Pashinyan emphasized the importance of implementing consistent steps to preserve the language and culture, emphasizing the importance of state assistance in these matters.
An exchange of thoughts took place on steps aimed at strengthening Armenia-Diaspora ties.
Then, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the President of Keith Nahigian and discussed issues related to the development of Armenian-American relations. The priorities of the RA government and the steps taken to overcome the existing problems were touched upon.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, together with his wife Anna Hakobyan, is on a working visit to the United States of America. As part of the visit, the Prime Minister will participate in the 5th annual International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington, as well as the National Prayer Breakfast. A number of other meetings are also planned.
