ArmInfo. The security of the Caucasus region, as well as all that of all its neighbors, including Armenia and Azerbaijan, is important to Iran. This was stated by Esmail Baghaei, the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, during a weekly press briefing.
He said that exchanges are being conducted with these two countries at the diplomatic level, in a constructive manner, adding: "We are ready to offer any assistance to strengthen security and stability in the South Caucasus region." Regarding the presence of foreign forces in the region, the representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Iran does not consider the presence of foreign forces as beneficial to regional stability. He added that Tehran believes the presence of foreign powers in the region actually destabilizes it, as reported by Mehr.
