ArmInfo. Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition faction With Honor, continues to insist that if Azerbaijan really intends to sign a peace treaty with Armenia, then it has no significant problems with the initiatives proposed by Yerevan.
On his Facebook page, the parliamentarian recalled that there are only two uncoordinated points in the treaty against 15 already agreed ones. "If you read the content of these articles - on the non-deployment of troops of third countries on borders that have already been delimited, and bilateral withdrawal from international disputes, it becomes obvious that not only are they not the most difficult issues on the agenda, but they also do not contain particularly harsh or clearly negative elements," Abrahamyan noted.
He pointed out the need to assess the position of Azerbaijan, which is artificially prolonging this process. "The reasons here may be different, but I will focus on two. Firstly, Azerbaijan is at the next stage of resuming or expanding its demands. Secondly, considering the possibility of using force as an option, Azerbaijan is studying the internal and external factors of the resumption of the war and assessing its consequences. The goal here may be a possible operation in the direction of the Syunik region and its occupation or part of it under the pretext of the forcible opening of the so-called Zangezur corridor," the oppositionist said.
He recalled that the topic of the "corridor" was excluded from the text of the peace document and put on a separate agenda for discussion.
