ArmInfo. In 2025, starting from February 1, citizens of Armenia will be exempt from paying 3,000 drams for activating an electronic signature. This is stated in a statement by the Information Systems Agency.
According to the source, it is important to know several options to use an electronic signature. "Option one: you must have a Mobile ID SIM card provided by your mobile operator. To do this, you must have a valid ID card with or without a chip, and if you do not have one, get one at any territorial division of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. Visit any service center of your or another preferred mobile operator with your ID card and mobile phone, where your current mobile phone card (SIM) number will be replaced with a new Mobile ID SIM card. With the help of the mobile operator's customer service staff and with your participation, you will receive an electronic signature and identification. Citizens who have not paid for and activated the electronic signature before February 1, 2025 will have the electronic signature activated automatically," the statement says.
Option two: to obtain an electronic signature, you need an identity card containing an electronic chip, for which you must have a valid identification card (ID Card) containing an electronic chip, received from the territorial division of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia before February 15, 2023, with which PIN and PUK codes were provided, have an ID card reader, which can also be purchased at EKENG CJSC (details: https://www.ekeng.am/hy/reader). Citizens who have not paid for and activated their electronic signature by February 1, 2025, will have their electronic signature activated automatically. Please be advised that in case of existing or active electronic identification and electronic signature with any of the above options, no additional action is required. If you have a valid ID containing an electronic chip, but have lost or do not remember the PIN and PUK codes, you should use the first option. By May 1, citizens of Armenia must submit a declaration of their income to the tax authority electronically, for which they must have an identification card and an electronic signature.
