ArmInfo. If the management process of the Armenian Armed Forces had been implemented properly, the 44-day war would have had a different outcome, and the number of territorial and human losses would have been significantly less. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly from the opposition faction "I have the honor".
As the MP explained, if the Armed Forces had received the order to go on the defensive at the right time, if the mobilization had been organized according to pre-developed plans and the necessary disciplinary measures had been carried out, the outcome of the war could have been different. "In this case, there would not have been so many losses, and Artsakh would not be under Azerbaijani occupation today," the oppositionist added.
Abrahamyan noted that in order to form an opinion about the actions of the authorities regarding the 44-day war, it is enough to read the comments of the chairman of the parliamentary defense committee. The MP recalled that in his recent broadcast, he, in particular, noted: "The army faced two serious trials: the four- day war of 2016 and the 44-day war of 2020. The way we perceive these army realities is connected with the previous authorities. We also made serious mistakes in those days, but it is important to note that after the change of power in 2018, perhaps "inexperienced people" came to power, who have yet to form their own understanding of the situation." In this vein, Abrahamyan expressed bewilderment over the statements of some government officials, noting that it seems as if the war in 2020 was managed by the third president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, and he also appointed the Minister of Defense, Chief of the General Staff and Commander of the Defense Army.
"I am not even talking about decision-making, management and pragmatic actions in wartime, which were completely lacking not only during the 44-day war, but also after it. Maybe in 2021-2023, when the Azerbaijanis were taking away territories from Armenia, the ruling force in the National Assembly was the Republican Party led by Serzh Sargsyan?" Abrahamyan asked.
The oppositionist emphasized that the Armenian authorities have falsified everything so much that they themselves have become entangled in their own manipulations. "What don't they do to hide their crimes and justify the enormous damage inflicted on the state," Abrahamyan concluded.
