Armenian Deputy FM visits Damascus

ArmInfo. Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan had a meeting with Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Assad al-Shaybani in Damascus.

As reported by the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry,  Kostanyan conveyed the commitment of the Armenian government to the  development of bilateral relations with the Syrian side. The  interlocutors exchanged views on possible areas of cooperation.  The  Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister reaffirmed the readiness of the  Armenian side to provide support in humanitarian area and   implementation of reforms, as well as various other priority programs  in Syria.  The parties mutually emphasized the strong historical ties  between the peoples of Armenia and Syria. In this context, they  expressed support for the efforts aimed at creating an atmosphere of  solidarity and inclusiveness in Syria.

The interlocutors exchanged views on regional developments,  emphasizing the importance of settling relations with neighbors.  The  Syrian side highly appreciated the visit of the Armenian delegation  to Damascus. An agreement was reached to maintain ongoing contacts.
