Pashinyan: Yerevan pursues balanced and balancing policy

ArmInfo. It is very important that we establish diplomatic relations with Turkey, and we are working in this direction. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at the panel discussion during the Davos Economic Forum on January 23 "Usually people ask me whether I am optimistic or pessimistic on this matter. 

I will say that I am neither an optimist nor a pessimist. I am  pragmatic and I understand that there is a need to work until the  problem is resolved.  The most important thing is not to deviate from  the peace agenda, we must focus on it as a goal and continue to work  without giving up or getting disappointed. But of course, we need the  support of the international community, and I hope that this support  will be provided," the prime minister said. According to him, Yerevan  has decided to pursue a balanced and balancing foreign policy, which  means that it will try to create a balance in  its relations with the  European Union, Russia, and regional powers.  "Our relations with  Iran are very important. I have already said that we are trying to  establish diplomatic relations with Turkey, we are trying to reach a  peace agreement with Azerbaijan. Of course, it is not easy.  But on  the other hand, I do not think that it is impossible. It may seem  strange, but we openly discuss our intentions with all of our  international partners. We share with all our partners what we do  with our other partners," Pashinyan said.
