ArmInfo. The Foreign Relations Committee of the Upper House of the Swiss Parliament adopted a resolution on convening an international peace forum to promote an open dialogue between Azerbaijan and the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh/Artsakh under international control to discuss their security and right to collective return.
According to media reports, the Foreign Relations Committee of the Council of States adopted this resolution with 6 votes in favor, 1 against and 2 abstentions. The next stage will be the last.
If finally adopted, the resolution will enter into force, and the Federal Assembly undertakes to convene a conference regardless of its will and position.
Recall that this initiative was adopted by the lower house of the Swiss Parliament in December 2024. The author of the resolution is MP Erich Fontobel. Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis also took part in the discussion.
