ArmInfo. Former Yerevan mayor Hayk Marutyan has filed two lawsuits contesting the decision to deprive him of his mandate in the Council of Elders. He announced this at a briefing with journalists outside the court building. According to Marutyan, the deprivation of his mandate is a boycott initiated against him by the political elite. He also mentioned that the second lawsuit was filed because of the restriction on his ability to speak at a meeting in the mayor's office. In turn, the head of the National Progress faction, Grigor Yeritsyan, explained that they are contesting the decision made by the Council of Elders, considering it an act of illegal political persecution aimed at eliminating opposition deputies.
